2009 ESF Conservation Association Awards

The Betsy & Jesse Fink SCA Award provides support to ESF students to help gain career related experience through their participation with the Student Conservation Association (SCA). There will be four $350 awards granted this year. Awards will be given to current ESF students to further develop or introduce them to environmental education, recreation and conservation activities associated with the SCA. Application Requirements:

1. Applicants must be current ESF students and be scheduled to return to ESF for the fall 2009 semester.
2. Applicants must submit a brief two to five page essay that explains their interest in conserving our natural and cultural resources through an SCA Internship. The essay should explain why the SCA Internship is the best opportunity for them and what past experiences have led them to this point.
3. The applicant must have applied, been accepted and be committed to attending the SCA for the summer 2009 season. Please indicate the location and sponsoring partner of your placement.
4. The funds would be used by the winners to help with supplies and/or travel.

Application essays must be submitted to Mr. Turbeville in 110 Bray Hall no later than 4:00pm, March 27, 2009.
